In a bid to foster closer ties between industry and academia and offer students real – world insights several colleagues from our puzzle factory recently embarked on a memorable visit to Shantou Polytechnic.
Upon arrival at the college, our colleagues were greeted with warm hospitality by the faculty and students. The day’s activities commenced with an informative lecture held in the college’s spacious lecture hall.
During the lecture, our colleagues delved deep into the multifaceted world of puzzle manufacturing. They started by tracing the historical journey of our factory, from its humble beginnings to its current status as a leading player in the puzzle – making industry. They elaborated on the various types of puzzles we produce, ranging from traditional jigsaw puzzles to the more innovative 3D puzzles that have captured the imagination of puzzle enthusiasts worldwide. One of the highlights of the lecture was the in – depth exploration of the manufacturing process. Our colleagues meticulously explained each step, such as christmas puzzles and custom paper puzzle from the careful selection of raw materials such as top – grade paper and so on to the state - of – the – art cutting and shaping techniques used to ensure the precision and quality of every puzzle piece. They also shared valuable insights into the design and development stage, emphasizing the importance of creativity, market research, and user experience in creating puzzles that stand out in a highly competitive market.
The lecture was not a one – way communication but a two – way exchange. Students actively participated in the Q&A session, firing off a series of thought – provoking questions. Topics ranged from the future trends of the puzzle industry, such as the integration of augmented reality and virtual reality technologies in puzzle design, to the challenges of sustainable manufacturing in the context of the puzzle business. Our colleagues responded with enthusiasm, drawing on their years of experience in the industry to provide well – informed and practical answers.
After the lecture, the college arranged a campus tour for our colleagues. They visited different departments and facilities, including the art and design department, where students were busy working on their creative projects. The vibrant atmosphere and the students’ innovative works left a deep impression on our colleagues. They engaged in friendly conversations with the students, offering advice on how to translate their artistic ideas into market – viable puzzle designs.
